Getting a tattoo is a serious decision and you should always treat it that way.

The tattoo design you end up with will likely be with you for the rest of your life. The unfortunate thing is that some people just impulsively get a tattoo without any real thought. This is a mistake and you should only ever get a tattoo if you are completely sure you want one. You should never allow friends to talk you into getting a tattoo. Any decision to get a tattoo needs to be your own. Don’t just get a tattoo on the spur of the moment because you see your friend getting one. Take some time and think about it first.

Some people might feel that just getting a tattoo impulse wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The thing about this is that this decision could be one you regret for a long time. People who get a tattoo they didn’t really want might be able to deal with for a few years, but eventually they will really begin to regret their decision and will likely see it as a source of embarrassment.

If you take the time to really think out your reasons for getting a tattoo and picking a specific design then you are less likely to be full of regret later. Never let peer pressure be the case of getting a tattoo. Follow the advice of the top tattoo artists and only ever get a tattoo for yourself; never for anyone else.
