When a lot of people think about tattoos they associate them with being something to be found on characters who could best be described as rough around the ages; bikers and criminals.
The reality is though that it is not just these types of people who like to get tattoos. Today you will find people from all walks of life getting tattoos; even sweet old grannies. You will find that most of these are opting for less traditional forms of tattoo.
A popular thing at the moment is to get make-up permanently tattooed on the body. This is advantageous because it means no more worrying about putting on make-up; this will save a lot of time in the mornings. With this type of tattoo the application process differs slightly from the more traditional tattoo.
The ink for a cosmetic tattoo is injected into the dermis; just like a normal tattoo. They differ from the traditional tattoo in that they use very subtle colors. Another way that they differ is that a topical ointment will always be applied to the skin so as to numb the area.
When it comes to cosmetic tattoos the most common to be found are; lipstick, lip-liner, eyebrows, and eye liner. It usually takes a couple of weeks for this type of tattoo to heal. It may be necessary to go back for a top-up about a month or so after the tattoo is healed. You might have to go back more than once if it hasn’t turned out as you expected. This tattoo should then look good for a few years. It should be noted though, that the area is likely to be swollen and red when finished so you might want to arrange some time off work.
